When:
The NW Charity Flex Jam will occur in an approximately 69 Hour time span starting Sunday, August 12, 2007 and will go to the afternoon of August 15, 2007. The intent is to complete the project 100% in this amount of time!

Register here to make sure we know you will be participating.

Where:
The venue which this event will be held at is the 360 Flex Conference at the Red Lion Hotel in Seattle (Directions). We will be primarily headquartered in the Presidential Suite of the hotel on the 5th Floor. Within this area we will have wireless Internet, a sign-up and help desk. The good news is you don't have to be in the room to do the work. You can grab your tasks, go back to your room (if visiting from out of town), your home, or sit in Pike Market and code away.

What:
We will be building Northwest Harvest a Virtual Food Drive application using Flex. All the specifics are detailed in documents linked below. If you have questions please come to the help desk at the event headquarters at the Red Lion Hotel.

The application will be deployed in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environement, with Adobe Coldfusion 8 and Microsoft SQL 2005.

Who:
Although this event is offered primarily to 360 Flex conference attendees, if you don't plan on attending the conference you can still join us. You just won't be allowed on the 3rd Floor where all the conference events are happening. We recommend that you register for the conference however.

In terms of skills we will need during the event. Flex, Flash and Coldfusion development. Graphics development skills using Photoshop or Fireworks will also come in handy.

Prizes:
Judging for prizes will be done by calculating the number of task points accumulated by an individual. Only tasks completed and judged to be done in an acceptable way will earn task points.

Once you come to the event room, you will have the opportunity to review tasks that you might want to take on. Some tasks may be easy others may be more difficult. Task points will be clearly displayed with the task item and are assigned by importance and difficulty level.

All task points will be calculated by 3PM August 15, 2007. And prizes will be awarded accordingly to top performers. You do not have to be present to win (but are encouraged to come to the prize giveaway event at 4PM August 15, 2007).
